Not just consulting, but a full back-office support system.
About MJP Electrical Consulting
MJP Electrical Consulting was founded to help electrical contractors, developers, and owners navigate the complexities of electrical construction.
I am a Florida State Certified Electrical Contractor with an EVITP (Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program) certification and have passed the National Electrical Contractors Examination through NASCLA, allowing reciprocal licensing opportunities in more than fifteen states and jurisdictions.
My experience includes electrical contracting, construction management, project executive leadership, estimating, project administration, and commercial development. Since entering the construction industry in 2009 and the electrical contracting industry in 2017, I have been involved in projects ranging from retail shell buildings and tenant buildouts to grocery stores, big-box retail, medical facilities, veterinary clinics, industrial warehouses exceeding 250,000 square feet, and luxury condominium developments up to eighteen stories.
Throughout my career, I have observed that many small and mid-sized electrical contractors struggle when transitioning into commercial construction. Success in commercial work requires much more than installing electrical systems. Contractors must understand contracts, scope gaps, submittals, RFIs, pay applications, change orders, lien rights, and project documentation. These administrative challenges often determine whether a project is profitable.
Developers and owners face a different set of challenges. Utility coordination, electrical scope evaluation, change-order review, permitting requirements, and National Electrical Code considerations can significantly impact project cost and schedule. Having experienced electrical guidance early in the process can reduce risk and improve decision-making.
MJP Electrical Consulting was created to bridge these gaps by providing practical, real-world electrical construction advice based on years of field, management, estimating, and executive-level experience. My goal is simple: help contractors become more successful, help developers make informed decisions, and help projects run more efficiently from conception through completion.
